Napa Valley Water Polo concludes most successful program in Valley Water Polo history. Summer session to begin 5/17/10.
 
Eight girls who will be representing NVWP recently concluded a year of training with the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP). One year ago eight girls qualified among the 40 girls representing the Central California Zone in the new Olympic Development Program.
These girls trained for a year as a team and competed this last weekend in the ODP Regional Championships at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon. The Pacific Zone, led by two national team players beat them by two goals 11-9 in a fiercely competitive match between the 18 & un teams and were involved in the defeat of Pacific 11-10 in another fiercely contested game in the 16 & un age-group.

Napa Valley Water Polo will be offering programs this summer that will be preparing for the National Junior Olympics to be held August 3-8 in Irvine, Ca.. A Maximum of 48 teams which qualify from 11 Zone Championship tournaments will compete in each age group.
 
Of the girls who participated in the ODP program 6 have already committed to participating on the NVWP Junior Olympic teams.
